163: Viewing Bareels

This competition requested a clear and direct means of viewing the Aurora Borealis from the edge of Myvatn Lake in northern Iceland, all while fulfilling a program of year-round habitation. Our proposal establishes the fixed building as an edge that rakes back the landscape, and which provides an anchorage point from which to deploy multi-coloured barrel-shaped singular rooms along the ground plane.
